Your resume is your strongest asset in the hiring process. But here’s a secret: a cluttered, multi-page resume can hurt your chances. Employers, myself included, often skim resumes, so clarity and relevance are key.

Step 3: Tailor Your Resume to the Role
I’ve been there—sending out generic resumes and wondering why I wasn’t getting responses. The truth is, your resume must align with the role you’re applying for.

When you get the email inviting you to an interview, celebrate—but don’t wait too long to respond. I’ve seen candidates lose opportunities because they delayed scheduling.
Pick the earliest available time. Interviewing first can set a high bar for other candidates, giving you a competitive edge.

Here’s a lesson I learned: how you look affects how you feel. Dressing professionally doesn’t just make a good impression; it boosts your confidence.
Choose an outfit that’s neat, clean, and appropriate for the role. Stand tall, make eye contact, and send out positivity.

One mistake I often noticed as a hiring manager was candidates who didn’t know enough about the company.
Do your homework. Learn about the company’s mission, values, and goals. During the interview, connect your skills to their needs. Show them you’re the perfect fit for their team.
